PSEG Continues to be Named Corporate Sustainability Leader

Dow Jones recognizes NJ energy company for its economic, environmental and social responsibility efforts

(September 12, 2014 - Newark, NJ) - Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) was named to the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index for the seventh consecutive year. The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) selects leading companies based on the quality of a company’s strategy, management and its performance in dealing with opportunities and risks deriving from economic, environmental and social developments. PSEG was the only utility company in the tri-state area to be named to the list.

“The nature of our business is to constantly plan for the next generation’s energy needs,” said Ralph Izzo, chairman, president and CEO of PSEG. “That’s the very definition of sustainability. We continually look for ways to improve how we provide energy solutions in terms of increased reliability and less cost and impact on the environment. It’s how we have sustained a successful business for 110 years.”

“Both the importance and the understanding of sustainability has grown dramatically over the past decade and a half,” said David Blitzer, managing director and chairman of the S&P Dow Jones Index Committee.  “During that time the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices have been established as the leading benchmark in the field.”

Over the past year, PSEG has made progress in key initiatives such as making the grid more resilient against extreme weather, and investment in infrastructure upgrades which have driven the economy of New Jersey, in terms of job growth, GDP expansion and government revenues. PSEG’s vision for long-term leadership remains focused on providing safe, reliable, economic and greener energy.

Public Service Enterprise Group (NYSE: PEG) is a publicly traded diversified energy company with annual revenues of $10 billion. Its operating subsidiaries are: PSEG Power, Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) and PSEG Long Island.
