PSEG Foundation Giving Guidelines

Overview:

The PSEG Foundation provides grants in the communities where we do business including our New Jersey and Long Island service territories, as well as our operating territories in Salem, Burlington and Gloucester Counties in New Jersey, and our operating territories in Albany, NY, and Bridgeport and New Haven, CT.

Giving Guidelines:

Please carefully review our giving guidelines before beginning an application.

Applications will be reviewed using the following criteria:

  • The organization must be an IRS approved 501(c)(3) or a 170(B)
  • Alignment with one or more of our giving focus areas
  • Organization or program resides or benefits in the places where we do business
  • Program effectiveness, including demonstrated and anticipated outcomes and impacts
  • Program feasibility based on organization staff and organization/program budget

The following types of organizations or programs are not eligible for funding:

  • Individuals
  • Organizations not exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code
  • Sectarian purpose programs that promote religious doctrines or exclude participants based on religion
  • Political causes, candidates, organizations or campaigns
  • Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, sex, sexual orientation or religion
  • Organizations with a primary purpose of influencing legislation
  • Athletic, labor or fraternal groups
  • Endowments
  • Programs/organizations for which PSEG is asked to serve as the sole funder

Review Process:

Proposals are reviewed on a rolling basis, and applicants can expect a response within eight to twelve weeks of submission. During the review period, we may request additional information via email or phone and/or request a site visit to learn more about the organization and the funding request.

PSEG Corporate Giving:

The PSEG family of companies provides support for dinners, events, and targeted sponsorships serving the places we do business in New Jersey, New Haven and Bridgeport, CT, Albany, NY, and Long Island, NY. Organizations must apply online between January 1 – October 31. Proposals must be received at least eight weeks prior to the event date.  Review time can take eight to twelve weeks.

Applications will be reviewed using the following criteria:

  • Organizations must be non-profits, but 501(c)(3) status is not required
  • Organization or program resides or benefits in the places where we do business
  • Priority given to events/organizations that align with PSEG business strategies and/or Foundation giving focus areas
  • Consideration of other funding from PSEG, i.e., additional events or Foundation grants
  • Organization/program effectiveness

The following events are not eligible for PSEG funding:

  • Events benefiting individuals
  • Events benefiting sectarian purpose organizations that promote religious doctrines or exclude participants based on religion
  • Political causes, candidates, organizations or campaigns
  • Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, sex or religion
  • Organizations with a primary purpose of influencing legislation
  • Athletic, labor or fraternal groups

Please note that we do not accept unsolicited applications for sponsorships of sporting events, teams, facilities, museums, or other institutions.
