PSEG names two prominent attorneys to key executive posts
David Falck and Richard Thigpen are elected to leadership roles in Legal, Governance and Public Affairs

(Newark, NJ – March 6, 2007) - Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) announced today (March 6, 2007) the election of two prominent attorneys to key executive positions in its Legal, Governance and Public Affairs group within one of its subsidiaries, PSEG Services Corporation.

The new executives are:

  • David P. Falck, a partner in the New York law firm of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, who will become senior vice president-law, effective March 19. Falck will have responsibility for corporate and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) legal matters.

  • Richard T. Thigpen, co-founding partner of the Trenton, New Jersey-based political and public consulting firm 1868 Public Affairs LLC, who will become vice president-state governmental affairs, effective March 26. Thigpen will have responsibility for governmental affairs in New Jersey.

The two executives will report to R. Edwin Selover, PSEG’s executive vice president and general counsel who oversees the company’s legal, governance and public affairs group.

“Both have extraordinary experience and are highly respected in their fields,” Selover said. “They will contribute significantly in PSEG’s efforts to maintain the highest levels of corporate integrity and position the company as an industry leader in responding to such important issues as global warming, energy costs and reliability of service.”

Falck has been a partner at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman and one of its predecessor firms, Winthrop Stimson, since 1987 after having served eight years as an associate in that firm. Over the years, he has represented utility holding companies, generation owners, underwriters and investors in strategic and capital-raising transactions and governance. He holds a doctor of law degree from Washington & Lee University School of Law in Virginia and is a graduate of Colgate University in New York.

Thigpen has been a public affairs consultant since 1999 and is currently the co-founding partner of 1868 Public Affairs LLC, which provides lobbying, strategic planning, public relations and government relations services to clients in New Jersey, New York and Washington, D.C. From 1996 to 1999, he served as the Executive Director of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee where he coordinated two successful statewide campaigns for both national and New Jersey candidates.
