Rodney L. Dickens and John R. Latka Elected PSE&G Vice Presidents

(October 18, 2006 - Newark, N.J.) - PSE&G announced that Rodney L. Dickens of Franklin Township*, NJ has been elected vice president of asset management and centralized services, and John R. Latka of Franklin Lakes, NJ has been elected vice president of electric delivery operations. Both promotions were approved by the PSE&G Board of Directors.

Previously director of asset management, Dickens in his new role will be responsible for ensuring the reliability of the utility’s electric delivery assets and overseeing various functions that support the provision of safe, reliable service.

“Rodney and his team have successfully managed an annual capital and O&M spend of more than $600 million to maintain and improve PSE&G’s electric system,” said Ralph LaRossa, president and COO of PSE&G. “His diverse operational and leadership skills were developed in different key assignments during his 30-year tenure with the company. They will be invaluable as PSE&G – and other utilities in the region – comply with increasing demands for safe, reliable power.”

A professional engineer, Dickens joined PSE&G in 1977 and has held positions in generation, engineering, project management, distribution field operations and asset management.

Dickens serves on the board of directors for the Children’s Specialized Hospital in New Jersey. He is also on the advisory boards for the Electric Power Research Institute and several other industry organizations. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration degree from Rutgers University Graduate School of Management.

Previously director of electric system operations, Latka in his new role will oversee PSE&G’s electric system operations, safety and emergency preparedness efforts to provide safe, reliable service to the utility’s 2.1 million electric customers.

“John understands what it takes to keep the lights on for our customers both day-to-day and during adverse conditions, such as the extreme heat this past summer,” LaRossa said.  “His extensive operational experience – gained from moving up through the ranks -- will serve us well as we strive to maintain our excellent record of safety and reliability.”  Last year, PSE&G was named America’s most reliable electric utility by a major industry benchmarking group.

After joining PSE&G in 1982, Latka moved through a variety of positions, including assignments in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, transmission, distribution operations, construction, engineering and emergency preparedness. He holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Tennessee Technological University.

Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) is New Jersey’s oldest and largest regulated gas and electric delivery utility, serving nearly three-quarters of the state’s population. PSE&G is the winner of the ReliabilityOne National Achievement Award for superior electric system reliability. PSE&G is a subsidiary of Public Service Enterprise Group Incorporated (PSEG) (NYSE:PEG), a diversified energy company (www.pseg.com).
