(May 1, 2006 – Newark, NJ) - PSEG Power has completed construction and testing of the Linden (NJ) Combined Cycle Energy Project and the 1,220-megawatt (MW) natural gas fired facility has been placed in commercial operation.

The state-of-the-art facility is located in Linden (Union County) NJ, and will provide the state and region with a new source of clean, efficient, and environmentally responsible energy. The new facility replaces 430 MW of oil-fired steam capacity at the site.

PSEG (PEG/NYSE) is a diversified energy holding company. Its other primary subsidiaries are Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G), New Jersey’s oldest and largest energy distribution utility company, and PSEG Energy Holdings, a holding company for other non-regulated businesses. PSEG and PSEG Power have their headquarters in Newark, NJ.
