The Company and its employees are honored to receive a number of awards and recognition from organizations from a variety of disciplines. Awards and recognition in overall corporate performance, community support, diversity, and the environment are just some of the areas where PSEG has been recognized.
2007
Coastal America Special Recognition Award. The White House Council on Environmental Quality recognized PSEG for its leadership with the Corporate Wetlands Restoration Partnership (CWRP) in New Jersey and the mid-Atlantic region and its initiative to restore aquatic habitats on the Delaware Bayshore through the PSEG Estuary Enhancement Program. Coastal America is a national corporate program to coordinate federal, state and local governments and private sector activities to solve coastal problems.
America's Most Admired Companies. PSEG ranks sixth among electric and gas utilities on Fortune magazine's prestigious annual listing.
2006
ReliabilityOne National Achievement Award. For the second year in a row, PSE&G was named America's Most Reliable Electric Utility by PA Consulting, an industry benchmarking group, for operating the most reliable electric system in the nation. In addition, this marks the fifth consecutive year PSE&G received the regional reliability award.
Construction Industry Safety Excellence Award. PSEG was the first power/utility company to receive this award from the Construction Users Roundtable. Award presentors noted that PSEG Fossil Construction has "clearly established safety as a core value, modeled by its outstanding project leadership and used as a key performance indicator of overall project success."
Corporate Leadership Award. The New Jersey Audubon Society recognized PSEG's efforts to safeguard habitat and protect open space through innovative, environmentally responsible vegetation management practices along its transmission rights of way.
Corporation of the Year. The National March of Dimes named PSEG its number one public utility fundraising team in the nation for WalkAmerica for the seventh year in a row. PSEG associates and retirees helped raise $172,000. PSEG received additional awards for fundraising, including the Crystal Award, presented to groups earning special recognition on the state or chapter level. In addition, individual teams were honored with gold, silver and bronze awards.
Forbes Platinum 400. Forbes magazine ranked PSEG 249 on its list of the 400 Best Big Companies in America. This list recognizes companies with at least $1 billion in revenue and high rankings for corporate practices as well as long- and short-term sales and earnings growth and stock market performance.
Fortune 500. PSEG ranks 178 on the Fortune 500 list.
Freedom to Compete Award. Presented by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), this award recognizes excellence in PSEG's equal employment opportunity practices. PSEG was commended for its Energy Utility Technology Degree Program, a workforce development program which recruits and trains new talent through a unique blend of general coursework, in-class training and hands-on work experience.
Gold Quill Award of Excellence. The International Association of Business Communicators declared PSEG an Excellence Winner for its Merger-Related Internal Communications program for employees.
Spirit Award. Coastal America recognized its NJ Chapter (in which PSEG has been a leading member from the outset) with its Partnership Award for the Batsto River Fish Ladder, and for the NJ Marine Science Consortium Habitat Initiative.
2005
ReliabilityOne National Achievement Award. PSE&G was named America's Most Reliable Electric Utility by PA Consulting, an industry benchmarking group, for operating the most reliable electric system in the nation, PSE&G has also won the group's regional award for four consecutive years.
Green Community Achievement. New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection recognized PSE&G for its outstanding efforts in the area of urban and community forestry. PSE&G is the first and only utility company to receive this award. The company’s employee foresters were specifically commended for their volunteer efforts to assist community tree planting and environmental education.
International Habitat Conservation Award. The Wildlife Habitat Council honored PSEG for its commitment to wildlife habitat enhancement and restoration and increasing native biodiversity at the sites of the Estuary Enhancement Program (EEP). PSEG also received the coveted Rookie of the Year Award presented to an outstanding newly certified program. The Estuary Enhancement Program encompasses over 20,000 acres of restored wetlands on the Delaware bay coast in New Jersey and Delaware.
REX Award for Recycling Excellence. PSEG received this award from the Association of NJ Recyclers for its sound resource management and recycling strategies. PSEG’s recycling leadership was commended by New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection as a model for other companies.
Corporate Patron of the Year. The Community Foundation of New Jersey honored PSEG for its exemplary work in the health and environment.
