PSE&G uses private electrical line clearance contractors to implement its vegetation management techniques and objectives. In the past, ABC Professional Tree, Asplundh Tree Expert Co., Davey Tree Expert Co., Lewis Tree Service, Tamarack Forestry Service, and Nelson Tree Service have performed the majority of tree trimming for PSE&G. All of these companies are nationally recognized as professional utility line clearance contractors.

All trees and brush designated for trimming or removal shall be trimmed or removed in a professional manner in accordance with the latest industry standards. These include OSHA safety standards, ANSI pruning techniques, and other professional standards.

PSE&G’s Vegetation Management personnel keep abreast of the latest technologies in utility arboriculture. Many hold certifications which may include some, or all, of the following:

• International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist
• International Society of Arboriculture Utility Specialist
• New Jersey Certified Tree Expert
