Please Trim Bushes and Shrubs Away From Meters and Other Equipment

At PSE&G, it's our job to "make things work for you." In fact, we've been working hard in New Jersey communities for nearly 100 years.

But there are times when we need your help in order to serve you better. Our employees need to be able to safely access your outside utility equipment. This means bushes and shrubs should be trimmed away from meters, outside heating/cooling equipment, utility poles and other electrical equipment. In the winter months, excessive ice and snow must be removed. Whether reading your meter, investigating a problem or servicing your appliances it's our goal to keep our employees safe while providing for your needs.

We ask that you also take the following into consideration: 

  • Make sure that the path leading to your meter is safe and properly lit-especially stairs.
  • Keep the area around your meter and appliances free and clear of clutter.
  • Trim bushes and shrubs around outside devices to provide easy access for employees.
  • Notify us of any hazardous conditions, such as loose steps or railings.
  • Please keep dogs and other animals secured and away from our employees and service areas.
