Who will perform my energy audit and energy efficiency work?

Your energy audit, blower door test and weatherization will be performed by skilled, specially trained PSE&G technicians who carry ID badges and will work with you to explain each step of the program. A PSE&G-authorized contractor will work with you for Step Three of the program.

Does someone need to be home during the in-home visits?

Yes. At least one adult over the age of 18 must be present for all in-home visits. However, we prefer that the PSE&G customer of record be present because our energy auditor will work with you to explain the findings in the home and provide you with educational materials about other programs in which you may wish to participate.

How much does it cost to participate?

Step One and Step Two of the program are free of charge. The cost for Step Three depends on the energy efficiency measures recommended by your energy audit, the cost of those measures, and your household income. You will only be required to repay 20% or 50% of the cost of the Step Three Measures.

Will my monthly bill look different if I participate in Step Three?

Your monthly PSE&G bill will include a fixed monthly charge to cover your portion of the cost of the energy efficiency measures for Step Three. If your home is landlord-owned, your landlord will be billed for the efficiency measures costs.

Can I receive financial assistance for improvements not recommended by PSE&G?

No. Only energy efficiency upgrades recommended by your energy audit are eligible.

Will my personal information remain confidential?

Absolutely. As part of the Residential Whole House Efficiency Program, PSE&G may gather data to help us understand your energy use patterns and your eligibility for the incentives. However, this information will not be disclosed to any third parties.
