  • Start up your heating system before September 13 and save $25. Between September 14 and October 31, there is a $25 turn-on charge. By checking your heating system now, you'll find out if it's working properly, and avoid the wait if repairs are needed. Click here for more information.
  • Our goal is to keep the power on, but in case there is loss of power: stay away from downed power lines, keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed, use caution with candles, and turn off lights and appliances to avoid overloading circuits once power is restored.

  • Due to the transition to our new customer information and billing system, you were not billed for one or more of your WorryFree contracts in April. Therefore, this bill reflects current charges for your WorryFree contracts, as well as charges not billed in April. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

  • Summer’s here!  Visit www.pseg.com/saveenergy where you can find helpful energy saving information.  No internet access?  Request a FREE Energy Savers brochure by calling 1-800-854-4444.
  • PSE&G's Equal Payment Plan (EPP) allows you to pay the same amount each month for your energy bill.  You pay for the exact amount of energy you use, but the total cost is spread equally throughout the year.  (Every year, your account is reviewed and you are billed your regular EPP amount minus any credit owed to you, or plus any balance that is due.)  To enroll, go to www.pseg.com/epp, or call 1-888-275-7734 (PSEG).

  • This bill reflects BPU-approved changes in the Delivery portion of your electric bill.  These increases are to recover the costs associated with the acceleration of electric capital expenditures related to the improvement in reliability and operation of the distribution infrastructure and to recover costs associated with the implementation of a Demand Response Program at the direction of the BPU.  The total impact on an average residential electric customer is an annual bill increase of approximately 0.18%.  Tariff information is available at www.pseg.com.
  • This bill reflects a BPU-approved change in your gas bill.  This increase is to recover costs associated with the acceleration of gas capital expenditures related to the improvement in reliability and operation of the distribution infrastructure.  The impact on an average residential gas heating customer is an annual bill increase of approximately 0.38%.  Tariff information is available at www.pseg.com.
  • If you have coverage under the WorryFree Residential Contracts Program, there will be a small additional monthly charge for some service contracts starting in June. The additional monthly charge will be 19 cents for a dryer, 20 cents for a washer, 27 cents for a dishwasher, and 29 cents for a refrigerator.  These charges will be effective on your contract renewal date.
  • In our effort to continually improve customer service, we have replaced our customer information and billing system.  Due to this upgrade, the number of days billed in May will be slightly higher than the normal number of days in a billing month. March 2009

  • Effective March 1st, residential gas bills decreased by 7 percent due to a decline in the wholesale price of natural gas.  Under the new rates, a typical residential gas heating customer who uses 200 therms in a winter month, or 1,210 therms per year, will see a decrease of $136.36 annually.  Combined with a 5 percent reduction in gas bills that took effect on January 1, 2009, there has been a total reduction of about 12 percent this year.

  • Please help to keep our employees safe. Make sure the path leading to your meters and other outside electrical equipment, is free of clutter, ice and snow.

  • Consider replacing your standard incandescent light bulbs with ENERGY STAR compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs.  CFLs use about 75 percent less energy than standard bulbs and last up to 20 times longer.  For more information, visit www.energystar.gov.

    The last sentence regarding meter reading on Saturday and Sunday will only be sent to routes that may be read on weekends.
