PSEG Power was created in June, 1999 as a result of electric utility restructuring in New Jersey and quickly established itself as a major player in the wholesale energy and energy trading business. The company makes and markets electricity and engages in commodity energy trading.
PSEG Power owns and/or operates 21 stations spread across five states - New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New York and Texas. Their energy is sold within four electricity markets including the Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Maryland (PJM) Interconnection, one of the nation’s largest and most important energy markets, the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO), ISO New England which is responsible for managing the New England Power Pool (ISO-NE), and the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT).
PSEG Power brings to these wholesale energy markets an electric generation portfolio diversified by fuel source and market segment, demonstrated expertise in natural gas procurement and an energy trading operation designed to maximize the value of these assets.
