Frank Hruschka, a Trouble Shooter for PSE&G, is extremely grateful for his Support for Sports grant. The weekend of June 27-28th, the grant helped the Jackson Renegades Girls Softball Team participate in the Firecracker College Showcase. Out of 44 teams they placed 2nd. The girls played 10 games over a long three day weekend. The team played so well they managed to advance to the final game! It was a real nail bitter, winning the semi-final, 5-4. They beat the number 4, 5, and 1 seeds during the eliminations to advance to the Championship Game. Unfortunately they lost the championship game to a team from the lower Hudson Valley, NY State, the Tarrytown area, The Hudson Valley Hurricanes (seeded number 3). Even though they lost the girls and fans alike behaved with great sportsmanlike conduct. Though they would rather have won, it wasn't so terrible to lose to a team that acts professional.
