One recipient of a Support for Sports grant was Wendy Dix of Audubon Gas. Wendy takes the time to volunteer with Monroe Township Youth Soccer by fundraising and working at the snack stand. Since 1974, Monroe Township Youth Soccer (MTYS), a non-profit organization, has been  promoting and advancing the general needs and welfare of youth, without regard to race, religion, color, sex or national origin for boys and girls from ages 4-19, within the limits of Monroe Township, New Jersey.  MTYS also has a program called “Soccer Buddies” which is a program for special needs children.

With the funds MTYS received from PSEG they purchased t-shirts that the children will wear during games for years to come.  MTYS also displays PSEG’s banner in a prominent position on their fence and the logo and company vision is noted on the MTYS website.  PSEG will also receive a thank you plaque with a photo of the team that is sponsored and will be highlighted in the MTYS Newsletter.

Wendy believes the Support for Sports program is awesome because it contributes funds to volunteer organizations so they can make sure the children of the community stay active and have fun while learning the skills of a sport.  It also promotes PSEG as a reliable and caring company.
