Are marching bands eligible for a Support for Sports Grants? No, this program is meant to support sports activities (little league baseball, soccer, football, basketball, hockey, softball) that PSE&G employees volunteer as coaches, directors, referees, etc. and most importantly where PSE&G can display a banner at all the events. How will I know if my application was accepted? Grants will be processed at the end of the month. If you are eligible for a grant you will receive an email notifying you. If you are declined you will receive an email with the reason for the decline. (Back to Top)
When will my organization receive the contribution? Grants will be distributed on a monthly basis. (Back to Top)
When and where will I receive my banner? The banners will be mailed at the end of the month. It will be mailed to your work location. (Back to Top)
Can I include my child’s youth religious sports league? Yes, these organizations such as CYO Basketball (Catholic Youth Organization) are available for a grant. (Back to Top)
Can I apply for a Dollars for Doers grant and a Support for Sports grant in the same year for the same organization? Yes. (Back to Top)
What if my fellow employee and I coach for the same team -- can we both receive grants? No, each youth sports team is eligible for one grant per calendar year. (Back to Top)
What if I coach the Newark Crushers Little League Team and my fellow employee coaches for the Newark Sluggers Little League Team --can we each receive grants? If you share the same home field you cannot both receive grants. If you coach at different fields and can each display a banner you may receive a grant. (Back to Top)
What if I coach Newark Little League and my fellow employee coaches for Newark Soccer -- can we each receive grants? Yes, you can each receive grants. (Back to Top)
What if I am the employee but my husband (who is not an employee) coaches my son’s team -- can I still receive a grant? No, you the employee must be the volunteer. SUpport for Sports Grants are only available to PSEG employees. (Back to Top)
I work in the snack stand every game for my child’s youth team. Am I eligible to receive a grant? Yes, working in the concession stand is considered a volunteer activity. Just remember you are still responsible for hanging the banner. (Back to Top)
My child is a member of a youth team that does not have a fence to hang the banner; however we can display the banner on the clubhouse, is this satisfactory? Yes, as long as the banner is displayed in a prominent location. (Back to Top)
