What is the PSEG Dollars for Doers program?

Each year, PSEG's Dollars for Doers program provides $250 grants to nonprofit organizations on behalf of our employee volunteers. Grants are awarded based on the first 200 qualified applications in a calendar year.

Applications are usually available in the first quarter and must be received by December 1.

Who is eligible to participate?

PSEG permanent full - or part-time employees with at least 3 months of continuous company service.

How many grants I am eligible for?

You are eligible to receive a maximum of two grants per calendar year.

Can a team apply?

Yes, a team can apply. The team must elect one person as the team leader. This person is responsible for applying online for the grant.

**Please note: If you apply as a team leader it will count against one of your two grants allowed per year, and not against that of another PSEG employee on your team. If another PSEG member of your team does not qualify to apply for two or more grants for other organizations and you do, it is recommended that you make them the team leader.**

What are the individual volunteer criteria?

Volunteer activities must be in addition to and completely separate from job responsibilities. You must be an established, active, non-compensated volunteer at your organization. You must provide a minimum of 50 hours of service per year to your organization. A maximum of 2 grants per employee will be awarded in a calendar year.

What are the team volunteer criteria?

At least 50 hours of service, collectively, must be provided by PSEG employees. Family and friends may also participate. However, at least 2 team members must be employees. There is no minimum hours requirement for other team members who are not employees (family, friends, etc.). Provide a team name and a one-sentence description of the team’s volunteer activities.

What are the organization criteria?

The organization must be recognized by the internal revenue service as tax-exempt, and designated as a public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. The organization may receive no more than one grant per employee and no more than three grants per calendar year. The following types of organization are not eligible: technical, professional, and those that are primarily religious, political, fraternal, social, or hobby/recreation-oriented.

When will the nonprofit organization receive the contribution?

Grants are mailed quarterly. The schedule is:

How will the nonprofit organization know if the application is rejected?

A letter will be sent to the organization with the volunteer's name and explanation of rejection. Also, a letter will be sent to the volunteer with the organization's name and explanation of rejection. This process will be done by email if an address is provided.
